Innocenzo Cipolletta is an Italian economist and business executive who was Director General of the employer's association Confindustria when he attended the 1994 Bilderberg meeting.

Education

He graduated in statistical sciences at the Sapienza University of Rome in 1965.

Career

He was General Manager of Confindustria from 1990 to 2000, president of Marzotto S. p.a. from 2000 to 2003, of Il Sole 24 Ore from 2004 to 2007, of state railway company from 2006 to 2010, of the University of Trento from 2003 to 2018. He was commissioner of the Palaexpo in Rome in 2018.[1][2][3]

In 2023 he became president of the Italian Publishers Association.[4]

He has also held official and executive positions at the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development and at the ISCO (National Institute for the Study of the Economy).

As a university professor he has held teaching positions at La Sapienza University of Rome, Faculty of Statistical Sciences, at LUISS in Rome, at the School of Social Sciences in Florence and at the University of Reggio Calabria.

He was a member of the Board of directors of the Censis Foundation, Laterza SpA, Lunelli SpA and the Lars Magnus Ericsson Foundation. He participated, among others, in the scientific committees of the "Rivista di Politica Economica" and the "Fondazione del Nord Est".

He was a member of bodies such as the Italian Society of Statistics, the Italian Society of Economists, Demography and Statistics, the Adriano Olivetti Institute of Studies for Economic and Business Management (ISTAO) and the Istituto affari internazionali (IAI). He is also a publicist and economic commentator for newspapers, as well as having written numerous articles and books.

He sat on numerous corporate boards.
