Heinrich Müller was a high-ranking German Schutzstaffel (SS) and police official during the Nazi era. For most of World War II in Europe, he was the chief of the Gestapo, the secret state police of Nazi Germany.

He was last seen in the Führerbunker in Berlin on 1 May 1945. He might have died in the last days of the Reich, or he might have successfully escaped by creating a new identity, or he might have been taken over by another intelligence service.
