Svein Blindheim“He told of his stay behind training in the early 1950s: Organization of resistance groups, sabotage, infiltration, methods of initiating violent unrest, etc. Throughout the course, the organization and execution of what was called the liberation exercises for a Warsaw Pact country took place. The country in question was Hungary. It was the uprising in Hungary in 1956 we rehearsed!...We were simply rehearsing the program of infiltration of organizations, the military apparatus, and police, which must have been the prelude and introduction to the uprising in Hungary in the autumn of 1956 ... I have never seen any reason to doubt the realism of this rehearsal, which went on for many weeks. In other words, it was the United States alone who infiltrated Hungary so strongly that the Russians intervened on October 31, 1956, or most likely it was a NATO project.”Svein Blindheim1981
