Dr Edward Peter Neufeld was a Canadian economist.
Education
Neufeld was born in 1927 at Nipawin, Saskatchewan. He received his B.A. Honours degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 1951 and from there went on a schoolarship to the London School of Economics and Political Science, London. He was awarded the Hutchinson Silver Medal by the School for his doctoral thesis, an appraisal of the operations and policy of the Bank of Canada, which was subsequently published.[1]
Career
After obtaining his PH.D. degree he was employed for two years by the Bank of England and then accepted a position with the University of Toronto, where he worked ever since.[1]
He wrote numerous articles on Canadian monetary and financial affairs and at the University of Toronto lectures in the general area of money, banking, and business cycles.[1]
