Donald Trump was shot during a campaign rally on the 14^th of July 2024. According to the official narrative, his would be assassin fired eight rounds from an AR-15–style rifle, giving Trump a cosmetic wound to his ear and killing one other person before he was himself fatally shot by a US secret service sniper.

Official narrative

"Liberal" corporate media at first downplayed the event.

Shots were fired at US Presidential candidate Donald Trump during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania. Trump was slightly hit in the upper right ear and ducked to the ground where he was surrounded by members of the US Secret Service. At least one other person died on the spot, as well as the shooter. Witnesses and local law enforcement reportedly saw a shooter who was shot dead within 1 minute from a sloped roof 200-400 feet away from Trump. Apart from the Trump's alleged ear wound, three other men were hit. U.S. Representative Ronny Jackson said a bullet had grazed his nephew's neck, who was left bleeding.

Attendees reported seeing 20-year-old Thomas Crooks acting suspiciously near rally metal detectors, according to CNN, with local law enforcement being notified and broadcasting warnings over their radios to the Secret Service to be on the lookout for him.

He was also reportedly seen with a rifle outside of a security checkpoint to gain entrance into the rally. Police apparently failed to locate him while those alerts were out, before finally responding to reports of an armed man on top of a roof. US Secret Service blamed local police for not securing the perimeter and that was their job. The USSS was only tasked according to a CNN report with securing the rally ground.

A bomb squad was called in a for a large car hours after the incident belonging to Crooks, multiple home-made bombs were subsequently found. The shooter was identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, reported by the New York Post. Trump was discharged from the hospital with injuries to his ear the following night.

This was the first time that a former or current U.S. president or presidential candidate was injured in an attempted assassination since president Ronald Reagan was shot in 1981.

The events led to an outpouring of sympathy for Donald Trump on social media and political figures across the political spectrum both domestically and internationally urged for calm, condemning the attempt on his life, in a rallying call of some sorts.

Concerns

The event, with the iconic photographs of him raising his fist after being severed at the ear, arguably helped him win the election. The event has aspects to it indicating that it may have been staged. The Secret Service has made numerous, some very hard to explain mistakes, while securing the area. Thomas Matthew Crooks (the shooter) body was released for cremation at the behest of the FBI and in secret, before any additional investigation by congress could take place. He was able to get off eight shots before being killed by counter-sniper fire, using a budget AR with unmagnified optic. Video footage of the moments before the famous picture by photojournalist Evan Vucci (and others) shows that: Trump is held down for several seconds, when he gets up the side he is facing (the podium) is not immediately covered, in this place a female, who is much too small for his security detail, is moved and remains, this position of her's allows for the photographs to be taken with Trump's face visible (other also from the shoulder on up) and some with the American flag in the background. The overall time it takes to get him of the stage is longer due to him making the fist movement and given that the Secret Service in such circumstances has to suspect a second shooter, the fact that Trump is allowed to stand another time with some attack surface for these photos seems odd.

Blackrock Connection?

An unverified video emerged on 4Chan and Reddit, originating from Youtube, on the channel of deep state financier Blackrock. The video appears to show the shot shooter Crooks in a sponsored add for a teacher of Crooks his former high school.

Polarizing perspective

The New York Times ran a poll 2 weeks earlier with political scientist Robert Pape that revealed that 10% of respondents said "use of force is justified to prevent Donald Trump from becoming president".

Secret Service Threat

Congressman Mike Waltz said "I have very reliable sources telling me there have been repeated requests for stronger secret service protection for President Trump. Denied by Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas," on X. Kaitlin Collins of CNN reported that Trump's security detail was "recently strengthened" for unknown reasons. The apparent "oversight" resulted in The US House Oversight Committee summoning the head of the U.S. Secret Service to testify.

Shooter spotted

Multiple witnesses, including one telling the BBC came forward that multiple people saw a shooter less than 130 meters away from the site crawling up a roof with a rifle minutes before the shooting occurred. They attempted to alert the US Secret Service with arm gestures and by screaming, but failed to gather the attention of the agents nearby. Another witness identified as "Ben Macer" reported to local media he saw the shooter move from "roof to roof". Macer waved to officers on site, who also not responded or spotted the shooter themselves.

The BBC also reported "Local police had initially spotted the gunman, who was acting strangely, at Saturday's Pennsylvania rally about an hour before the shooting, according to the briefings, 20 minutes before he shot his rifle. They notified other police agencies, including the Secret Service, via radio. At the time, Crooks did not appear to have a weapon. They then lost track of him. He was identified as a character of suspicion because [he had] a rangefinder as well as a backpack. And this was over an hour before the shooting actually occurred" They lost him in the crowd before he was spotted again by the counter sniper. A bodycam of the officers involved in checking on Crook's after he was shot, included a admission in the debriefing that Crooks was indeed spotted multiple times, and flagged by snipers to be tracked. The group were confused who and why nobody had seemed to act on that order.

Crooks was spotted by several people in their rally footage 1 hour before his attack, already being noticed for apparently odd behaviour, as reported by the New York Post.

Secret Service agents' line of sight

Another video, broadcast by CNN and later investigated on site by the NYT on 3:06 GMT pointed out that at least two US Secret Service snipers had a direct line of sight of the shooter and so should have been able to see him before the shooter allegedly crawled over the slope of the roof and took the shot. According to the WSJ, the USS sniper flinched back when hearing the shot and identifying the shooter. Why wasn't the shooter immediately targeted upon sight, or was he not spotted in spite of crawling and peeking over the roof — as reported by witnesses — was not clarified by the US Department of Homeland Security by CCM.

Pennsylvania State Police Commissioner Christopher Paris testified that two local snipers tasked with overlooking the roof from which Crooks shot left a building with vantage points overlooking the roof where Crooks took aim at the former president before he fired shots, but the local district attorney later said the building was never unmanned. Paris said that two officers with the Butler County Emergency Services Unit, a tactical force with sniper capabilities, left their posts in the building to look for a suspicious individual they spotted first and alerted to other law enforcement. That person was Crooks.

Another sniper?

Some articles note that Crooks was a poorly trained shooter. Video footage suggest he used iron, or a red dot sight. Audio recordings from the event indicate that shoots from different positions have been fired at Trump.

Downplaying

CNN, ABC, NBC and several international media called the shooting a "shooting incident", even after the FBI opened up an assassination probe into the shooting and the shooter was pictured with military combat clothing and an AR-15.

Financial foreknowledge

As with 911 and the 2023-2024 Israel-Hamas War/October 7 event, stock market indications are that someone had foreknowledge of the plot, tried to profit off the coming calamity. On July 12th, a day before the assassination attempt, Austin Private Wealth reported a short position nominally equivalent to 12 million shares of Trump Media & Technology Group which operates Truth Social, a pro-Trump social network in which Trump owns 78.8 million shares. The short represented approximately one-seventh of Trump's ownership in the same company, or 16% of all available stock float not held by major insiders. Had Trump died in Pennsylvania, the Truth Social would have been worthless, meaning a short position would have been a huge profit.

Foreign ties

Joe Kent reportedly insinuated in March 2026, after resigning as head of the National Counterterrorism Center, that there is a potential link to Israel.

Stage magic hoax?

Some analysts have pointed to the possibility that the ear wound probably was faked, an easy trick using stage magic, in what would be a false flag operation. The self cutting (with a small blade) to make fake injury look most severe, being a standard procedure in WWE fights.

RFK Jr

Calls were made for independent candidate RFK Jr to get new Secret Service protection normally only reserved for former presidents. A week earlier, FOIA files showed at least 30 threats made against the life of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. made in 2024.

Videos

During a rally, Donald Trump was shot and seen bleeding, causing Secret Service agents to rush him away with guns drawn. He was quickly escorted to a vehicle for safety.

A video showing the Secret Service Sniper in the line of sight of the shooter - and both him and the spotter - adjusting their sight suggesting the officers on the ground being notified of a shooter minutes before the shooter shot Donald Trump did not act on this information.

A local official apparently encountered the shooter moments before he fired eight rounds into the ground, CBS News Pittsburgh reports.
