Canisius College is a private Jesuit college in Buffalo, New York State. It was founded in 1870 by Jesuits from Germany.

School philosophy

Living and teaching in the tradition of the Jesuit Order, the College seeks to promote the whole person and to bring together the spiritual, intellectual, emotional and physical life of the individual. To do this, it uses the classic Jesuit educational methods and strives to train people to become spiritual and intellectual leaders (motto: Where leaders are made). As part of this tradition, it teaches according to the recommendations and precepts of Saint Peter Canisius, whose principles are based on freedom of conscience and respect for the person.
