Mithat Rende is a Turkish diplomat. He was Ambassador to Qatar and OECD, is a former chairman of the OECD Executive Committee, and Turkey’s Chief Climate Negotiator.

Edcation

Rende is a graduate of Ankara University Faculty of Political Sciences.

Career

After working in various positions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he was appointed Deputy Director General for Energy, Water and Environmental Affairs in December 2004. Between 2005-2008, he served as the chairman of the Trade and Transit Working Group of the Energy Charter Conference in Brussels.

He was ambassador to Qatar in 2007-2009. He served as the General Manager of Multilateral Economic Affairs in 2010-2013.
