Robert Arthur Jeker was a Swiss banker.
Career
Jeker started his professional career as an apprentice at the Schweizerische Kreditanstalt (now Credit Suisse). From 1983 to 1993 he was CEO.
After his resignation, he held numerous board mandates, inclduing ABB, UPS and NZZ.[1]
He was commander of an infantry regiment and general staff officer.[2]
1975/1976 he was member of the cantonal council in Basel.
An obituary said that "Jeker was a man who wanted to reach the very top since his early youth and achieved this goal with persistent work and good instincts. Until well beyond his retirement, he was therefore also a sought-after speaker on economic and leadership topics."[3]
