Yevgeny Viktorovich Prigozhin is a Russian oligarch, mercenary leader, and close confidant of Russian president Vladimir Putin. Prigozhin was sometimes called "Putin's chef", as he owns restaurants and catering companies that provide services for the Kremlin.[1]
Death
According to the Russian Aviation Authority, Russian news agency TASS, and Wagner-aligned Telegram groups on the 23rd of August 2023, Prigozhin was killed and shot down North of Moscow. Wagner aligned Telegram groups accused the Russian Military of shooting the plane down. [2][3]
