Unusually for a Deputy Secretary General of NATO, he attended the Bilderberg group, though probably not until well after leaving that job.

Background

Osman Olcay attended St. Joseph High School and graduated from the Ankara University Faculty of Political Sciences.

Career

He served in the foreign ministry, first as a clerk, then in various capacities in the consular services, including as a NATO delegate. Later he worked at Turkish embassies in Helsinki and New Delhi. In 1968/1969 he was appointed Deputy Secretary General of NATO[1].

In 1971 he was Turkish Foreign Minister in the government of Nihat Erim.

Deep politics

He attended the Bilderberg meeting in 1985.
