The United States Ambassador to Norway is the United States' highest diplomatic representative to Norway.

Overview
Norway joined NATO in 1949, and was part of the Marshall Plan.[1]
Embassy building
From June 1959 to May 2017, the embassy was located in central Oslo. The embassy building at Henrik Ibsens Gate 48 was next door to the Ruseløkka bunker, a former German occupation facility that was used by the Norwegian Intelligence Service (NIS) as a hub for phone- and room surveillance of a large number of people, including leftists, central politicians, the chief of the NIS and the chief of the defense forces[2][3].
In 2010, several pensioned high-ranking Norwegian intelligence leaders were exposed as being hired by the embassy to commit "private" surveillance of Norwegian persons of interest.
Since 2017, the embassy is located at Huseby in western Oslo, just a few meters from the Norwegian Huseby military base, in the process removing a 40 acre green space, to local protests.[4]
In 2019, work started on a "water treatment plant " at Huseby, an underground space the size of at least a football arena. The plant will require 100,000 truckloads of rubble to be removed, which will mostly be done through a three-kilometre cross-impact tunnel from Huseby down to a port facility at the ocean.[5]
Office in Tromsø
On June 1, 2023, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced during his visit to Oslo that the United States will establish a diplomatic office (American Presence Post) in Tromsø, in Northern Norway.[6] This came at the same time as the US massively increased its military presence in the region.
