Carey has a bachelor's in agricultural economics from Cornell University and a master's in business administration from the University of Delaware.[1]
Career
David Carey worked for the CIA for 32 years, including in various senior capacities. He was one of the founders of the DCI Crime and Narcotics Center, the Director of the Office of Near Eastern and South Asian Analysis and Deputy Director of the Office of Global Issues. In 1997, he became Executive Director.[1]
Later activities
Carey has worked as Vice President, Information Assurance at Oracle Corporation, Executive Director of Blackbird Technologies, and as an independent business development and strategic planning consultant to multiple firms in the defense and intelligence technology sectors.
Since 2008, he been working for Command Consulting Group, an "international security and intelligence consulting firm" staffed by Washington insiders, while also being Chairman of the Proxy Board of the italian armaments company Leonardo since 2009.[2]
