Career
He fought in World War II. During his military career was commander of 114º Infantry Regiment "Mantua" and Mechanized Division "Thunderbolt".
From 1 February 1980 to 13 September 1981 he was Commanding General of the Carabinieri.
Subsequently, he was Chief of Staff of the Italian Army from 1981 to 1985.
In 1987 he was elected senator of the Republic in the tenth and eleventh Legislature for the Christian Democrats, elected in Sicily, until 1994.[1]
He was Vice Chairman of the Defence Committee from 1992 to 1994.
Then he was Honorary President of the "National Association of Veterans from the Captivity, from internment and the War of Liberation and their families."[2]
