Biography
Urs Schwarz was co-founder of the International Press Institute in 1950 and member of the Institute for Strategic Studies and its Executive Committee in Londonm where he was an author of contemporary and strategic contributions. He studied Law at the University of Zurich, where he obtained a degree in 1928. After a subsequent commercial and insurance technical training, he studied in 1931, with the help of a fellowship, at Harvard Law School.
From 1932 to 1934 he worked for the Zurich Insurance in Barcelona. After completing a traineeship in the editorial department of the Neue Zürcher Zeitung (NZZ) in the same year, he worked for this important Swiss newspapaer as foreign correspondent in 1935 in Paris, from 1936 to 1939 during the civil war in Spain and during the Second World War from 1940 to 1941 in Berlin.His activity as a Spain correspondent was marked by Franco-friendly reporting.[1]
