The Chilean ambassador in Lima is the official representative of the Government in Santiago de Chile to the Government of Peru. The countries have had diplomatic relations since 1822.
Activities
Francisco Bulnes was ambassador from 1975, when he was appointed by the military dictatorship of General Augusto Pinochet. The representation had to be abruptly terminated in 1979, when he was declared persona non grata by the Peruvian government of General Francisco Morales Bermúdez following two cases of espionage in favor of Chile, discovered months earlier, which even ended with the execution of a Peruvian military officer accused of treason.[1]
