SMWObjects on Wikispooks are a consequence of using Semantic Mediawiki. Each page is assigned to one of the below object types by using the matching template. The most important main: namespace templates are: person, group, event and concept. All items in the document: namespace must be of type document.
Subobjects
In fact there is not quite a one to one relationship between semantic objects and pages, since the software allows definition of more than one semantic object on each page. Wiksipooks currently uses this facility in the SMWQ and Job templates, which both define their own semantic subobjects (for quotations and job postings respectively). (To allows references to these data to appear on other pages).
Semantic Objects summary
The full breakdown of Wikispooks:Semantic Objects is as follows.
Object Name | #Objects | Status | Description |
---|---|---|---|
Concept | 2,585 | stable | This is a catch-all object, to be used on all pages where the other objects don't apply. Extra top level objects will probably be split off from it in due course. |
Decade | 30 | experimental | The object for calendar decades. |
Document | 2,265 | stable | This object is only to be used for pages in the document: namespace. It is for documents created by 3rd parties. Document Editing Rules apply. |
Employment | 2,554 | stable | The object for names of jobs important enough to have their own Wikispooks page. |
Event | 1,358 | stable | The object for experiences/operations that happened, will happen or were planned to happen. |
Group | 4,913 | stable | The object for groups of people. For individuals, use 'person' |
Person | 13,536 | stable | Use if the subject of the page is an individual human being. For multiple people, use the 'Group' object. |
Place | 374 | experimental | This experimental object is for regions, cities, grassy knolls, wine cellars etc. |
Property | 265 | stable | The relationships used by SMW to connect pages together. This object mandated for the property: namespace. |
Publication | 258 | experimental | This is for pages in the Main: namespace about 3rd party publications. For the contents of these publications, use Template:Document in the Document: namespace. |
Quotation | 2,124 | stable | Quotations are the record of speech of third parties. Direct quotes must be within double quote marks. |
Video | 64 | stable | The object for videos. |
Website | 405 | stable | The object for websites. This is currently the only main namespace object which doesn't have an infobox. |
Year | 344 | stable | The object for calendar years. |
