Net Zero

Dolf van den Brink and Heineken is part of the CEO Climate Leaders Alliance. To the World Economic Forum, he stated in May 2022: "We’re focused on driving change fast, and at scale, to reach our net-zero ambitions. In our 2021 and 2022 strategic planning cycles, we prioritized our top-emitting operating companies, which account for 75% of our total carbon footprint, building detailed net-zero roadmaps and a pipeline of projects to be executed over the next three years.[1]

Black lives matter

On June 1, the first day in office as CEO, "as the world was battling the Covid pandemic", Dolf "yielded to his heart and an expanded sense of consciousness". The first video Dolf uploaded was not about business and brands. It was about the global campaign, 'Black Lives Matter'. "I just wanted to tell that as a company, our empathy is with the movement," he said. Diversity and inclusion, he let on, became an important part of how Heineken wanted to evolve as a company.[2]
