Michael H. 'Mike' Ross was international affairs director for the American Congress of Industrial Organizations (CIO). He was involved in the work using the CIO as a conduit for Marshall Plan/CIA finance to take control over European unions.

He attended the 1958 Bilderberg.

Career

Ross was born in England, and was in the British army during World War 1, He later studied economics and was a journalist for a number of years, before settling in the United States in 1932. He became research director for the Industrial Union of Marine and Shipbuilding workers in 1938.[1]

During World War 2 he was in a number of government agencies connected with labor and the war.[1]

Ross was international affairs director for the American Congress of Industrial Organizations (CIO) during World War 2 and until 1955, and for the merged American Federation of Labour-Congress of Industrial Organizations from 1958 until his death in 1963. [2][3] As such, he played a prominent role in the bitter anti-communist international trade union politics of the day.

Stationed in Brussels and Geneva as a liasion to the ICFTU[4], he was involved in the work using the CIO as a conduit for Marshall Plan/CIA finance to take control over European unions.[5]
