During this time he provided advice to Reid on 'planning for Helmand Task Force deployment, contributed to drafting of 2005 Defence Industrial Strategy and helped develop the case for the disposal for Chelsea Barracks'.
In 2007 he reports that he worked in Kabul and "co-produced report on integration of security and development in ADB projects in Afghanistan".
He joined Hanover Communications in 2007 and has provided political and strategic advice to clients including Lockheed Martin, the Ministry of Defence's Service Complaints Commission, the Government of Alberta, the Royal British Legion and EADS UK.[2]
