Tarun Chhabra is a China expert in the US National Security Council.

Before joining the Biden administration as Senior Director for Technology and National Security on the National Security Council, Chhabra was senior fellow at the Center for Security and Emerging Technology at Georgetown University and a fellow with the Project on International Order and Strategy at the Brookings Institution. He was previously a speechwriter to the US Secretary of Defense from 2013-2015 and assumed a role as Director in Obama’s National Security Council from 2015-2017.

Education

Chhabra received his J.D. from Harvard Law School, where he was a Paul and Daisy Soros Fellow for New Americans, an M.Phil. from Oxford, where he was a Marshall Scholar, and a B.A. from Stanford.
