Governor of Minnesota from 1999 to 2003.

In January 2011, Ventura filed a lawsuit against the Transportation Security Administration for being subject to pat downs. This was dismissed on a technicality.

As of 2016, he was writing for Counterpunch, criticising the DEA for is predictable selfishness as regards cannabis - "as long as the DEA is in charge of both writing the law and enforcing it, they’re going to keep things status quo, no matter what American taxpayers actually want."[1]
