Wolfgang Hesoun is an Austrian manager and general director of Siemens AG, Austria. He took part in the 63rd Bilderberg Conference in Telfs-Buchen, Austria, in 2015.

Career

After graduating, from 1982 onwards, Hesoun held several positions at Kraftwerk-Union (Siemens), Donaukraftwerke AG and general contractor planning for the Porr construction company.

In 1989 Hesoun became assistant to the management of Umwelttechnik AG. In 1993 he then worked in the investment management of Porr Umwelttechnik AG.

In 1994 he moved to the management board of Wibeba Umwelt AG and one year later, in 1995, to the management board of Porr Umwelttechnik AG, where he became CEO in 1998. He joined the board of Porr Technobau und Umwelt AG in 1999 and joined the board of mother company Porr AG in 2003. In 2004 Hesoun became Deputy General Director of Porr AG and in 2007 General Director[1].

Hesoun has been General Director of Siemens AG, Austria, since 2010. In July 2019, Hesoun became the new chairman of the professional association for electrical and electronic energy in the Austrian Chamber of Commerce, replacing fellow Bilderberger Brigitte Ederer as chairwoman of the association after nine years[2].

A magazine ranked him number one on the list of most influential Austrian manager in 2020[3]. In December of the same year they appointed him chairman of Casinos Austria AG.[4]

Personal

Hesoun is married and has one son.[5] He is the nephew of former Austrian Minister Josef Hesoun.

From 2008 Hesoun was Vice President of the Vienna Regional Group of the Federation of Industrialists, and since September 2012 he has been President.[6]

In addition to his involvement in the economy, Hesoun is also committed to social and societal issues. He is on the board of the Association for Economy and Integration[7], promotes archaeological research in Ephesus as Vice President of the Society of Friends of Ephesus[8], and since 2013 he has been a 'Red Cross Ambassador'[9].
