The USA PATRIOT Act is an Act of Congress that was signed into law by President George W. Bush on October 26, 2001. It was prepared long before the September 11 false flag attack,[1] and the Amerithrax attacks were used to quell opposition to it by targeting opponents.[2][3] The bill was rushed through congress with little to no time to read it in whole.[4]
Applications
The second person detained under the Patriot Act was whistleblower Susan Lindauer.
Rolling over
Designed as emergency legislation but permanently rolled over since 2001.

Lawrence Lessig | “I had dinner once with Richard Clarke at the table and I said 'is there an equivalent to the Patriot Act — an iPatriot Act — just sitting waiting for some substantial event just waiting for them to come have the excuse for radically changing the way the Internet works?' And he said, 'Of course there is' — and I swear this is what he said, and quote — 'and Vint Cerf is not going to like it very much.'"” | Lawrence Lessig | 2008 |
