Alfa, also called "Den fjerde tjeneste" (English:Alpha,"The Fourth Service") was (or possibly in its continuation still is) a group of deep politicians and intelligence operatives belonging to the Norwegian Labour Party who behind the scenes to a large extent engineered the direction of modern Norwegian history.
Background
The network has its origins in stay behind, where the Labour Party built its own stay behind system, parallel to the military one.[citation needed]
Trond Johansen, the de facto leader of the Norwegian Intelligence Service for several decades, was a central figure.
By the 1960s as the election patterns changed, the Labour Party could no longer take its perceived right to be the government for granted. As other parties took power, deep politicians and intelligence leaders belonging to the party formed their own network reporting only to themselves (and possibly the CIA), bypassing formal power structures.[citation needed]
Activities
The deep state network installed Gro Harlem Brundtland as Prime Minister in 1981.[citation needed]
