Sergei Yushenkov was a Russian politician.
Career
During the 1991 Moscow Coup attempt, he organized the "living chain" of civilians who came to protect the Parliament in Moscow, and he successfully negotiated with military personnel sent to storm the building.
He was on the Kovalev Commission to investigate the 1999 Russian apartment bombings.
Assassination
Sergei Yushenkov was shot dead on 17 April 2003, just hours after registering his political party to participate in the December 2003 parliamentary elections. 3 months later Yuri Shchekochikhin another member of the commission was assassinated.[1]
