Søren-Peter Olesen is a Danish doctor and research manager who attended the 2014 Bilderberg meeting before becoming CEO of the Danish National Research Foundation in 2015.
Education
He took a degree in electrical engineering from the Danish Technical University,before changing to medicine. He took a PhD at the University of Copenhagen in 1989.[1]
Career
He was Professor of Physiology at the Department of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Copenhagen from 1998.[1]
He was leader of the Centre for Cardiac Arrhythmia (DARC) at the Danish National Research Foundation from 2005 until 2015.[2]
In 2015 he became CEO of the Danish National Research Foundation[1].
In January 2023, he inaugurated PandemiX research center, to "make ready for the pandemics of the future".[3]
He retired in 2024.[4]
He is a former member of the Board of Directors of The Carlsberg Foundation.[2]
