Robert J. Redfield Jr is a former US military doctor and HIV researcher.

On 13 March 2013, Redfield - on the third time of asking - committed the US government to providing a free Covid test for each US citizen.[1]

On 26 March 2021 in an interview with CNN, Redfield stated that he believed that COVID-19 arose after the accidental leak of a genetically engineered virus from the Wuhan Institute of Virology in September or October of 2019.[2] He reportedly received death threats from other scientists after expressing this opinion.[3]
