Interest ofACT for NIH

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is the primary agency of the United States government responsible for biomedical and public health research. It was founded in the late 1880s and is now part of the United States Department of Health and Human Services. The majority of NIH facilities are located in Bethesda, Maryland and other nearby suburbs of the Washington metropolitan area, with other primary facilities in North Carolina and smaller satellite facilities located around the United States.

The NIH comprises 27 separate institutes and centers including the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). NIAID is the real power center in this system, controlled by bureaucratic empire builder Anthony Fauci.

NCI spent just 1 million - that is 0.02 percent of its $4.7 billion budget in 2005 - on education, press releases and public relations to encourage better eating habits to prevent cancer. Under the NIH's regulatory rubric, the only exposures that are permissible targets of criticism and research in that universal bugaboo are Big Tobacco and the sun, which doesn't pay lobbyists. NIH's unbridled criticism of UV light has made sunscreen lotions another booming profit center for Big Pharma.[1]

Call for censorship

In November 2021, NIH Director Francis Collins stated the country had "an epidemic of misinformation and disinformation. And it’s fueling a dangerous distrust in science." He suggested 2 solutions:

  • The first: Identify those who are purposefully spreading false information online and bring them to justice.
  • The second: Find a better way to counter false claims with real information. He didn’t specify what exactly either one would entail.[2]
