Not to be confused with The Lugar Center, a US think tank.
The Lugar Research Center, officially the Richard Lugar Center for Public Health Research, is a US black site biolab in Tbilisi, Georgia, on paper under control the Georgian government.

Official narrative
The construction of the current center was launched in 2004, after the US Government and the Government of Georgia signed a MOU between the Defense Threat Reduction Agency and the Ministry of Defense of Georgia. The full name of the Agreement was "Cooperation in the field of prevention of the introduction of pathogenesis and experience related to biological weapons development". According to the Official Narrative, the US government did not want the Soviet period scientists working on the biological weapons, in case the knowledge would get to such countries of the world as [[Iran] or North Korea.[1]
Ownership of the LRC has since fully passed on to Government of Georgia, and since 2018 the Georgia provides full funding for the LRC and Laboratory Network.[2]
Debunking of biolab accusation
In January 2020 Robin Forestier-Walker at Al Jazeera made a "debunking" of the biolab accusations, where he asked the laboratory director "whether there was any truth to these narratives". The director denied it, and Forestier-Walker was satisfied with that. |
