Jonathan Harold Esmond Vere Harmsworth, 4th Viscount Rothermere inherited a newspaper and media empire at the age of 30 on the death of his father Vere Harmsworth in 1998.
Jonathan Harmsworth, better known as Lord Rothermere, is the chairman of Daily Mail and General Trust (DMGT), formerly Associated Newspapers founded by his great-grandfather Harold Sidney Harmsworth, which owns newspapers including the Daily Mail, the Mail on Sunday and Metro.
In 2013 Private Eye reported that Harmsworth falsely claims non-dom status, in order to avoid paying tax on his stately home, Ferne House. This move saves him several millions of pounds in tax annually.
