Jean Jardin alias "the Yellow Dwarf", was a French senior civil servant, businessman and deep state actor.[1]
He was part of the group Ordre nouveau (New Order) in the 1930s. During the Second World War, he was chief of staff to Pierre Laval[2]. His skill and interpersonal skills mean that he is not worried about his activities within the Vichy government during the period of collaboration with the Nazi occupiers, and that he can resume his influential position of éminence grise at the heart of power during the Fourth Republic , until the beginning of the next republic in 1958.
In 1952, he became one of the close advisers of Antoine Pinay, who had become head of government.[2]
