Gabriel Ferras was General Manager of the BIS from 1 April 1963 until his death on 23 December 1970. Unusually for a someone in that position, he is not known to have attended the Bilderberg.
Overview
Ferras held a degree in political science and a doctorate of law (economics) from the University of Paris.[1]
He began working at the Bank of France in 1938. From 1953 until 1958, he was an alternate member of the Managing Board of the European Payments Union (EPU) for France. From 1953 to 1956, he also was Deputy Director of the Exchange Restrictions Department of the International Monetary Fund in Washington, and from 1956 to 1963 Director of the IMF European Department.
