Edward 'Eddie' C. Holmes is an British virologist.[1]
He was part of a group of five Richard Sykes, Roy Anderson] (who brought his colleagues Neil Ferguson and Brian Spratt along with him), Edward C Holmes, and Jeremy Farrar, which "created the processes and funding to recruit large swathes of those who now stands on their extreme end of the public Covid-19 debate."[2]
Official narrative
Professor Eddie Holmes is known for his work on the evolution and emergence of infectious diseases, particularly the mechanisms by which RNA viruses jump species boundaries to emerge in humans and other animals. He currently holds an NHMRC Leadership Fellowship and is Professor of Virology at the University of Sydney. He moved to the University of Sydney in 2012. He has studied the emergence and spread of such pathogens as SARS-CoV-2, influenza virus, dengue virus, HIV, hepatitis C virus, myxoma virus, RHDV and Yersinia pestis.[3]
"His decision to tweet the genome of SARS-CoV-2 on January 11 2020, making the data freely available to everyone, sparked urgent work in labs around the world to develop a test and a vaccine. Within days, the first diagnostic tests were available, and that weekend, scientists at Moderna and Pfizer are reported to have downloaded the genome and set to work on their mRNA vaccines, bringing a new technology to medicine in record time."
