The East StratCom Task Force (ESCTF) is a part of the European External Action Service, focused on "effective communication" and promotion of European Union activities in Eastern Europe (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine)[1] and beyond (Russia itself). The task force's flagship project is EUvsDisinfo, a database of articles and media which the organization claim is false, distorted or partial information.[2]
The unit is actively involved in covert pressure on social media companies, including the financial service Patreon to censor or ban users who go against official narratives.
The unit was actively involved with the Integrity Initiative.
