Massive role in Covid 19. Didn't support the usage of face masks.

The Dutch National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (Rijksinstituut voor Volksgezondheid en Milieu or RIVM in Dutch), is a Dutch research institute that is presented as an independent agency. RIVM is tasked with promoting health and a safe living environment by conducting research and collecting knowledge worldwide. The results are - unsurprisingly - used to support the Dutch government in formulating its health policies.

Background

Although by law formulated as an independent agency, the institute is appointed by the Dutch Minister of Health, Welfare and Sport. A further peculiar segment in Dutch law is the fact that all research-programs have to be discussed and given a green light by three ministers. The minister of Health, Welfare & Sport isn't allowed by law to tell how a research-program will be executed.[1]

Activities

Covid 19

The Dutch refused to order local lockdowns, unlike neighboring Germany and Belgium or the usage of masks early on and prohibited elderly homes from being tested causing hundreds of deaths among the elderly, which caused those death rates to let the government gain a majority of public support for the lockdown.

The leading virologists vocally called for 2nd and 3rd and harder lockdowns blaming the elderly homes, causing the Dutch to follow the UK and German policies.[2][3] On the 23rd of January the Dutch entered their first curfew since Nazi Germany raided the Dutch in World War 2. The curfew was followed by massive riots, widely reported in Dutch and international media, and soon used as reasoning to even extend and harden the lockdown.[4] State-TV hosts called kids participating in riots "terrorists", with other sites comparing them to the US Capitol protestors with their alleged use of Telegram.[5][6]

The judge amongst other things also allowed the head of the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment Jaap van Dissel to be called as a witness (as he and the cabinet were standing outside the courthouse) without an oath and allowed him to give arguments against the original decision of the court. This was previously forbidden - and to be punished with removal from the session - when tried by the plaintiffs, a sign of immediate intervention by the Dutch Deep State.[7]

Cover-up

“When I came to the case of one elderly home, I asked management what went wrong? They told me they had a ventilation system. They renovated one floor and on the request of one external engineer, they implemented an energy-friendly ventilation system, only on that floor. (...) Under several circumstances because of this system, a lot of internal air would be recirculated on that floor. When I requested to send me the filters of that ventilation system, we found Covid 19. I immediately noticed a strange restraint, in particular, because this should've never been investigated according to the municipal health services. (...) They initially requested me to not speak on this matter in the media.”
 (2018)  [8]

The RIVM withheld an internal report that concluded several separate floors with poorly installed ventilation systems were responsible for the big increase in elderly homes with Covid-19 outbreaks. Along with withholding this info, the RIVM also released a statement going against 239[9] scientists that requested the Dutch government to research more into this topic.[10] The government of Mark Rutte also prohibited elderly homes from being tested causing hundreds of deaths among the elderly in those cases with poor ventilation, which caused those death rates to let the government gain a majority of public support for the lockdown. The leading virologists vocally called for 2nd and 3rd and harder lockdowns blaming the elderly homes, causing the Dutch to follow the UK and German policies, fitting these numbers into hit pieces about Covid with the help of figures like Ab Oosterhuis.[11][12]
