Background
Cem Duna completed his bachelor's degree in Political Sciences from Ankara University in 1968 and then earned his master's degree from the University of Amsterdam.
Career
Cem Duma joined the Turkish Foreign Ministry on March 31, 1969, and was Branch Manager from 7 March to 25 June 1975. Duna was clerk of the Copenhagen Embassy until 24 August 1978. Duna was President of the Hague Embassy until July 31, 1979, and on August 3, 1979, he began acting as secretary general. Duna worked as branch manager of the General Directorate of International Economic and Social Affairs from 3 September 1980 to 4 May 1981.
In the 1980s, he held many positions such as undersecretariat of the Embassy of London, the Prime Minister's office, the general directorate, the Permanent Representative of the UN in Geneva, and the Permanent Representative of European Communities.
Duna was vice president of the TUSIAD High Advisory Council.
