Bradley Birkenfeld has been referred to as "the most significant financial whistleblower of all time."[1] He was imprisoned for 2½ years and was subsequently awarded over $100,000,000 by the IRS for his revelations.[2][3]

Career

Birkenfeld was a banker and then became a whistleblower.[4]

Sentence

Brad Birkenfeld was released from federal prison in August 2012 after being was imprisoned for 2½ years. While in prison he met Scott Bennett and they together pieced their stories together.[4][3]

Legal settlement

He was awarded $104,000,000 as his share of the fraud he exposed.[3]
