Betsy DeVos is a billionaire "education philanthropist"[1] who was nominated by Donald Trump to head the US Department of Education. Jeff Schechtman, writing for Who What Why observes that she "has long sought to end free public education and replace it with vouchers and for-profit charters."[2] She had experience working in a school environment.
