Mario Kohly was an Cuban investment banker. Kohly did well under Fulgencio Batista but lost most of his power when Fidel Castro took control in 1959, and went into exile in the United States. In his 1992 book, First Hand Knowledge Robert Morrow claimed that Kohly was involved in the assassination of John F. Kennedy.

Career

Mario Kohly, the son of the Cuban Ambassador to Spain, was born in Cuba. He became an international investment banker and worked on behalf several major corporations from the United States. Kohly did well under Fulgencio Batista but lost most of his power when Fidel Castro took control in 1959.[1]

Kohly was the main spokesman for foreign investors after Castro nationalized large sections of Cuban industry. He settled in the United States and created the Cuban Liberators, an organization made up of former Cuban Army, Navy and Air Force personnel.[1]

According to Robert Morrow, Kohly met Richard Nixon and leaders of the CIA in October, 1960. This resulted in the formation of Operation 40.
