Vocabulary standardisation

The page name is used to describe quite a range of entities here. Some, such as the Bilderberg or Bohemian Grove have had thousands of visitors and operated over decades. Others are much smaller and/or more ephemeral. I think the phrase was coined by Peter Dale Scott, with the larger size/time scale in mind -- as a milieu (i.e. physical and/or social environment) used by the deep state for meeting and incubating of plans.

Occasional leadership struggles not withstanding, the members of tightly knit groups such as families/companies/etc. tending to be "on the same team" (~ a deep state faction?) than groups such as the Bilderberg (perhaps even more Le Cercle), which derives a considerable degree of its value as a place to go to meet people from other teams. So I propose a veriew of the examples listed here with a view to try to see how many fit this (larger, longer, more hereogeneous) meaning.

As ever, it is no trivial matter to agree a set of definitions and words helpful to sort fact from fiction in the world of deep politics, but I think the effort is of fundamental importance, and well accomplished by addressing a range of diverse groups such as we have here. Greater clarity on how these terms interrelate -- e.g. what differentiates a deep state faction from a deep state milieu? -- would probably be good, as might extra phrases if occasion arises. -- Robin (talk) 10:05, 20 September 2024 (UTC)
