Bernard Wood was director of the North South Institute.[1].

Career

From 1976 to 1989 he was the founding Director of the North-South Institute in Canada. He has represented Canada on a number of delegations to the United Nations and other international bodies.[2]

From February 1989 to July 1992, he was Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Institute for International Peace and Security, a position to which he was appointed by the Secretary of State for External Affairs for Canada.[2]

In 1993 he was a Fellow of the Center for International Affairs at Harvard University, focusing on a major review of the state of theory and comparative practices in development and development co-operation.[2]

He became Director of the Development Co-operation Directorate of the OECD in September 1993.[2], which he led until 1999.[3]
