Dr. Oswald Aeppli was Crédit Suisse President from 1977 until 1983[1] He attended the 1980 Bilderberg meeting.

"Oswald Aeppli, board chairman of the bank, said the bank's total loss from the Chiasso affair would not be known until Texon's interests in such ventures as an Italian wine concern and a millionaires' island retreat near Venice have been sold. “To carry out these sales in undue haste would not be in the interest of stockholders,” he added."[2]
He was "cleared by his fellow directors of any blame in the case."[3]
