A refugee is a "displaced person who has crossed national borders and who cannot or is unwilling to return home".[1] The term has been changed by media to refer to any migrant. An example was when the media pretended that most migrants at the Calais Jungle were Syrian refugees during the 2015 European refugee crisis.[2]

Stef Blok | “I don't think you'll ever be able to centrally organize the EU countries accepting refugees in equal amounts. Eastern-Europeans would never agree to that. Even if we would force them, hands on their back and they'd say "yes", even then, walk a week through Warsaw or Prague. There are no colored people there. They would be gone within a week. They would be literally beaten up. They don't have a life there.” | Stef Blok | 2018 |

Refugees International | “If I’m reading in the newspaper about a crisis somewhere in the world, it is of great consolation to me to know that, if not at this moment, then very soon I will be hearing from Refugees International about how we should think about the crisis and more importantly what we should do about it.”” | Samantha Power |
