Fritz Halm was a Swiss business leader. He was Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Swiss Weapons Manufacturer SIG and at Metallwerke AG Dornach. He was Chairman of the Central Association of Swiss Employer Organizations.[1]
Career
Halm studied law in Bern and joined the trade department of the Federal Department of Economics in 1942. He belonged to several federal commissions and led various bilateral and multilateral negotiations. In 1957 he was appointed delegate of the Federal Council for customs negotiations.[2]
From 1959 he was director of Metallwerke AG Dornach (later Swissmetal Industries AG), in 1967 he joined the board of directors, and in 1970 became chairman of the board of directors. In addition to his job, he exercised the function of responsible for economic War provisions.
1969-72 he was President of the canton Solothurn's Trade and Industry Association and the Solothurn Chamber of Commerce.
1975-84 Halm was President of the Central Association of Swiss Employer Organizations. (today Swiss Employers' Association).
