During a television interview in Italy in 1990, Stansfield Turner refused to confirm or deny that the Italian Strategy of Tension was orchestrated within the CIA. Out of respect for the victims of the numerous massacres, the Italian journalist conducting the interview insisted that Turner clarify the strategy of tension. But Turner angrily ripped off his microphone and concluded the interview by shouting: "I said, no questions about Gladio!"[1]
