Right wing activist from Austria |
Martin Michael Sellner is an Austrian far-right political activist, and leader of the Identitarian Movement of Austria.[1] He gained some media recognition with organizing "Defend Europe" in 2017. After crowdsourcing more than $178,000, an Identitarian group chartered a ship in the Mediterranean Sea to ferry rescued migrants back to Africa, observe incursions by NGO ships into Libyan waters and render empty, not-seaworthy vessels immobile.[2][3]
Debanking
Brenton Tarrant sent a donation to Sellner more than a year before the shooting. This lead to counter terrorism investigations against Sellner, two house searches, loss of entry permit into Canada and the US [4] and the cancellation of 55 bank accounts he opened in other European countries.[5]
