Snaresbrook Crown Court
On 6 October 2022, Palestine Action co-founders Huda Ammori and Richard Barnard were to appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court, on charges of burglary, criminal damage and blackmail, pertaining to actions spanning the first six months of Palestine Action. The jury trial was expected to last 4 to 5 weeks and, if found guilty, they face a potential 14-year jail sentence for blackmail charges:
“In two years of direct action, Palestine Action have severely disrupted the smooth functioning of a business built on bloodshed. For this, we are facing intense political repression.
"Let it be known that we stand as the accusers, not the accused, and we fully intend to expose Elbit’s many war crimes, in particular, the Israeli arms company’s role in 74 years of occupation and dispossession lived by the Palestinian people.
"#ElbitIsGuilty, we are not.”[2]
Interference by Israel
In August 2023, Huda Ammori alleged that the "Israeli occupation" is interfering over the conduct and timing of the Palestine Action court cases in the UK.[3]
On 12 November 2023, interviewed by Crispin Flintoff on the Not The Andrew Marr Show, Huda Ammori said her trial would resume at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Monday 13 November 2023. She invited friends and pro-Palestine supporters to attend the trial which is expected to last for six weeks.[4]
Elbit Eight on trial
On 26 October 2023, Huda Ammori posted on X:
Whilst the British state assist in massacring my people, they put me on trial for disrupting the production of weaponry used to murder them.
Nothing they do can compare to the consequences of allowing Elbit to build their weapons. Bring it on.[5]
