Major Nureddin Fuat Alpkartal was a Turkish officer and politician with strong ties to the Turkish intelligence community.[1] He was a Military Attaché in the Embassy in Washington in 1947. It is unknown if he participated in the 1960 Turkish coup d'état.
Career
He was a graduate of the Military Academy, the French Artillery School and the Military Academy.
Career
He did service in the artillery and as an artillery instructor, was a General Staff Publication and Operations Branch Officer. He was Deputy Military Attaché of the Embassy of Budapest, Member of the Meeting of the Chiefs of General Staff of the Balkan Pact (a short-lived pact before WW2), General Staff Intelligence Branch, Protocol Section Chief,and at the 3rd Army in Erzurum.
By 1947, he was Military Attaché in the Embassy in Washington[2]. Later he was Deputy Director of General Staff Training Branch, General Staff Officer, Turkish Liaison Officer of the American Relief Board, Chief of General Staff Special Directorate, and Presidential Assistant.
He sat in the X. and XI. Parliament periods 1954-1960.
