"After completing a Bachelor of Science in agriculture and a Master in Economics in China, Yiping relocated to Canberra in 1990 to pursue his doctorate. After being awarded a PhD in economics in 1994, Yiping was appointed Research Fellow and Senior Lecturer at the then ANU Research School of Pacific and Asian Studies, where he played an important role in the establishment of the China Economy Program."[1]

Current research focuses on financial reform and FinTech.
