In May 2024, after the attempted assassination of Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, Kobakhidze, then Georgian Prime Minister, reported that he was warned by an EU commissioner (who later identified himself as Oliver Varhelyi) that if he goes ahead with the so-called “foreign agent” law, he should be “very careful”, since Robert Fico learned “the hard way”.[1]
